We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Campaigner who can get stuck in from day one to deliver bold campaigns that shift hearts and minds.
Whether we’re winning more funding for schools or pushing the debate about Free School Meals for All, a Senior Campaigner at Small Axe plays an important role in the delivery of our work.
As a Senior Campaigner, you'll manage and deliver small to medium sized campaigns, collaborating from start to finish with multidisciplinary teams.
You’ll tell memorable stories across a variety of platforms, lead project teams to deliver creative stunts and build trusted relationships with grassroots organisers and national organisations.
Every day will be unpredictable, will move fast and be a learning opportunity.

What we expect a Senior Campaigner to do
Manage and deliver small to medium-sized campaigns and projects — getting stuck into the behind-the-scenes admin from start to finish, tracking budgets and deadlines, ensuring exceptional standards of delivery and managing project reports and reviews
Lead multidisciplinary project teams — from designers to fellow campaigners to a range of creative collaborators — with a thoughtful mix of delegation, clarity, freedom and kindness
Get stuck into the day-to-day work of building and delivering integrated campaigns. That could look like wrangling data, writing punchy email journeys, producing moving films, organising parliamentary briefings, driving online engagement, getting print out the door, planning stunts and events
Support in crafting and executing ambitious campaign strategies appropriate to the resources available, integrating offline and online actions
Contribute to building positive and trusted relationships with partners, suppliers, grassroots leaders and spokespeople — communicating in person, on the phone and over email with clarity, honesty, integrity and adaptability
Stay up to date with technological innovations and changes across digital platforms
Keep your ear to the ground on political developments — flagging new campaign opportunities and areas to build relationships, pitching for new ways to build power
You will be supported to develop the following skills when in-post:

Business & network development - spotting opportunities with new or existing partners, bringing in new work, deepening your understanding of the movement and creating trusting relationships and partnerships within it
Person specification
Essential experience & skills
5+ years experience working on or with social or political campaigns using digital and creative, two of our three core disciplines. You might have used digital to plan, build and deliver compelling email journeys that convince people to take action. You may have used creative skills to develop film scripts, conceptualise multimedia designs or write emails that cut through for your audience.
Strong sensibility of what makes good creative and copy in a campaigning context
Confidence in using digital tools and platforms to create journeys that move people to take action
Proven experience in managing projects with minimal support and reporting on budgets
Proven experience collaborating with and maintaining momentum in project teams to get a project done
Excellent attention to detail across all types of work, no matter how big or small
Able to maintain high standards of delivery and communication whilst working under pressure and at pace
Extremely well organised, with excellent time and task management skills
Independent and resourceful with a can-do attitude, ready and able to learn quickly
Friendly and open, not afraid to ask questions when unsure
Proactive and creative problem solving
Demonstrable commitment to grassroots campaigning and social movements
Strong sense of how social issues intersect, and the nuanced interplay of class, gender, race, sexuality, life experience and context with regards to power
Desirable experience
Experience in the tools (or equivalents) that form an essential part of the way we work: Action Network, Airtable, Make/Zapier, Adobe, Trello/Favro, Google Workspace, Slack
